My Visit to Bukidnon State University

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAI was surprised to know that I had to attend my daughter’s graduation day from her Baking Class. I brought with me the camera, ready for taking pictures which I planned to publish in my blog. The day was so busy and tiresome for her. Baking her cakes for the showcase, taking care of her daughter, doing her managerial job at Hawk Media Group and doing her preparation for the graduation as she was the Master of Ceremony too. Time was running out, and I wasn’t able to take pictures at the entrance of the University.GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA

This is a Non-Formal Education  Class Graduation attended by 54 graduates from five respective skills, Culinary 1, Culinary 2, Baking 1, Baking 2 and Flower Arrangement. I really admired the set up of the hall, it was really a showcase of their talents and skills. Most of the graduates were mothers and fathers. Others were already businessmen who tried to update their skills and business in the field. The class has a six-month period of schooling and the instructors were the veterans of the University. They were GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAMrs. Lucia A. Pajantoy, the Baking and Culinary Arts Instructor and Mrs Mercidita S. Villamayor, the Flower Arrangement instructor. It was an elegant and very impressive event as it was attended by Dr. Mercedes Gloria D. Ramos, the Director of the Extension Program, who presented the 54 graduates and Dr. Victor M. Barroso, the University President, who  did the confirmation of the graduates. By his virtue he confirmed them  that they had successfully completed the necessary requirements set by the DepEd.GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA His wife, Dr. Remedios G.T. Barroso, one of the graduates in the class, said that she even rendered more time in the school as many of them will stay late at night just to finish their baking. They benefited a lot from the class as they gained not only the skills and expertise in baking and flower arrangement but also gained many friends. The commitment  and dedication of their teachers had inspired them and they said they were so lucky graduates as they paid only small tuition fee for the program.

The graduate’s amazing showcase had really caught my attention and it was a memorable day for me. Bukidnon State University is one of the prestigious schools in Cagayan de Oro City who offered an Extension Program of Education to the out-of-school youth and interested individuals who wish to alleviate their financial resources.
